My blog includes multiple topics and is not about one topic in particular. The topics I write about include book review, makeup, poetry, motivational Mondays and much more. I also allow guest posting and the guest posters too write about multiple topics such as reviews, life and advice.
What first inspired me was that I have always wanted to write but I felt like I was not doing enough of it. Although I want to someday write a book that is something I will have to work on for a while and until I can finish my book I still wanted to do some writing. That is when one of my friends told me she had started a WordPress blog and I decided to do the same and try it out and well I’ve been blogging ever since.
I started this blog as a birthday gift to myself. I was inspired to blog, only to fight the fear of committing to publishing all that I write.
I started out, with an intent to capture the unsaid and the abstract. It was key for me to become a versatile writer and branch out to incorporate a potluck mix of themes, genres and approaches to my posts.
After a couple of years, I can fairly say that I’ve accomplished the goals that I envisioned at the outset. Yet, fighting my lack of willingness to post what I pen is certainly a work in progress.
Today, my blog largely encases different styles of poetry but I’ve also dabbled in terribly tiny tales, listicles and prose pieces. Thank you for reading my story.
This was quite the frightening endeavor for me as, even though I am in my 30s, I had been strictly against social media of any sort. It was definitely a small fish in a VERY, VERY large pond sort of scenario when I first started out! Even now I can’t believe that people actually wanted to read what I was writing! I’ve actually figured out things like adding videos, and how to use a # (though my this was always just a pound symbol!). It’s definitely been a growing experience, and although I still put on my tin foil hat quite frequently, I feel that most of my readers and the blogs that I follow have come to find it endearing… I can only hope!
I decided that pairing my love of books with my love of alcohol, by finding specific drinks to pair with the book that I’m reading would be something fun to set me apart from the other Book Blogs out there… and give me an excuse to have a tipple now and again!!
My blog has expanded from there to occasional celebrations of National Food and Drink Days, my Far Side Friday’s (where I share Gary Larson’s Far Side cartoons with everyone), and my Game On! Saturday’s where I review some strange and unusual (and every once in a while, triple A) Game titles, from tabletop and Card games, to Video Games!
My inspiration was my hope of getting into the world of Editing. I thought that this blog would call me to the attention of different Authors out there who could help me get my foot in the door. I didn’t realize how much fun I would have doing it! I’ve met so many wonderful people, and met some life long friends while blogging and I am always open to meeting other new and amazing people!
My blog is entitled Writer’s Choice. I Share my thoughts on life through my writings, art and poetry. Some general Interesting facts can also be seen in on blog.
I have a deep desire and interest in writing poems and articles. Last year, in May 2017 I started off by using Blogger. I was using that for one whole year but it did not take off as expected. So, in May 2018 I decided to try out WordPress and that’s the best decision I made.
My blog is diverse. I post certain things which I am good at, which would help others to a certain extent.
The Nerdy Lion blog was created to foster change, it doesn’t necessarily have a singular purpose like other blogs as mine tackles anxiety, writing, blogging and a plethora of other topics. My blog is about shattering the status quo and breaking down stereotypes and other pre-existing paradigms in society.
The Nerdy Lion is a symbol of that, because a Lion is viewed as courageous and the king of his/her domain. Meanwhile, a nerd is the antithesis to that, socially awkward and shunned. I believe anyone can be a Lion, regardless of how you look or how society pegs you and there is something powerful in that realization. I want people who read my blog to find their inner Lion and become the best version of themselves. And rule the jungle while they are at it.
As with most, I am a writer on the brink of becoming the next big thing (funny joke right?) I started this blog because, I love writing. It is my one true passion and this blog allows me to fulfill that fire burning inside. Blogging was also a way to validate my writing and help me to establish that I was a competent writer in the first place. There is also the small potential that maybe someone who can get my books published will stumble onto my website and make all of my dreams come true. So, there’s that. Aside from me, I was inspired to create my blog, because I wanted to help people.
I have had many tragedies in my life that I have had to endure and successfully conquered. Because of that, I felt as though I should help others with their problems, even if it is through the awkward lenses of my life. You never know who you could potentially help or touch through the simple act of writing words. So, I do it the best I can the nerdiest way possible.
My blog is called Typewriter Girl. When I was little, I had a typewriter and, having an active imagination, I would type stories of adventures and escape. I must have typed hundreds of stories. Many years later, and being older, I had a desire to capture what was happening in my life instead of just collecting photos in my mobile phone gallery, never to be looked at again. And so, I returned to typing, this time on a laptop, to start my personal blog.
My blog is about sharing little snippets of my life and about the things I love and which inspire me. From places I visit, to my beloved dog Boris, to the beauty in nature I see around me, I share my thoughts and photographs on my blog and hope that in some small way they might inspire others too.
My blog is a creative writing blog that gears towards poetry and prose. I also use my platform to share blogging tips, how to gain readership, advice on writing, and other creative activities to engage with my readers.
Originally, I was inspired to start my blog because I wanted a place to put all my content that I had previously kept private. It was meant more for myself, and I sincerely thought that no one wanted to hear my stories anyway.
In my first six months, I gained 2,000 followers—and at that point, I knew that this was really something special. Building this blog meant sharing my thoughts with other WordPress readers, and hoping I could connect with them.
I think my reach has suggested that I really have made that connection, and I hope to continue to nurture it!
