Objects, and the Distance Between Them Blog

I write daily poetry and other creative writing, speaking to whatever is currently occurring in my life or happens to be in the forefront of my mind. This ends up encompassing a wide range of topics but I primarily write about relationships, love, mental health, time, light, and energy. I write as a creative outlet as well as to express myself and connect with others.
When I started my blog, most of my writing dealt with an ongoing divorce and my personal mental health struggles. It has since evolved, and though these topics still surface from time to time, they are no longer central.
I have also worked with several relationships defined as muses. I had never really worked with a muse relationship before and neither had any of them – it was a new experience and brought about some very inspired writing. I have since, inevitably it seems, fallen deeply in love with one particular muse, Blackbird, whom a majority of my writing either is about or to.
I found myself in a place of great darkness at the beginning of 2018, and realized that I needed to speak or my words would swallow me alive. I began posting with no real goal, other than to share my story and release the built up writing. I began this journey with the (rather foolish) intent of remaining distant and anonymous, but have since come to love this community, finding new meaning in the relationships I have built and the perspectives I have gained. I am slowly working to open myself up, and feel I have gained a family of sorts in those I have come to love here. I am inspired every day by the stories and poetry others share, the experience I encounter in my life, and those who I share this journey with.

Where are my pillows blog

I originally started my blog as a means to cope with having a chronic illness. After coming down with what seemed to be the flu in September of 2014, I ended up sustaining long-term effects (memory problems, verbal fluency issues, physical aches and pains) which turned my whole world upside down. Two years later I was diagnosed with tickborne disease, SIBO, and immune dysfunction. It’s been such a challenging, lonely journey and I turned to blogging in an attempt to face my health struggles head on.

When I started, I never realized how rewarding blogging would be. It’s been wonderful to connect with so many people and to receive so much support. Now that my health is improving, the focus on my blog has transformed to not just being a form of self-expression but to also help others. So many people are living with a chronic illness and I want them to know that they’re not alone. Through the lens of health, I write about what goes on in my inner world and various aspects of daily living. In that process I want to both allow others to get to know me and to raise awareness about the health struggles that many people don’t talk about.  The value of your health cannot be overstated and I want more people to internalize that! My blog is one small piece in trying to spread that message.

Life with an illness blog

My blog is about sharing my journey with others of having several chronic illnesses. I share tips, advice, while spreading awareness and positivity. My main objective is to help others, while showing them they are not in this alone. I strive to push them to keep moving forward and never give up!

About 2 years ago, I became extremely sick. After countless amounts of tests, hospital stays, doctors appointments, and driving monthly to an out of state clinic, I was finally diagnosed. I have lupus, fibromyalgia, celiacs disease, CFS, EDS, POTS, and I also struggle with anxiety and depression. For a while, I was in a dark place, a very dark place. I got to a point where I could allow my illnesses to take over me, or I could take charge, and use them as a tool to help others. I started my blog to encourage others with my story, and show them they aren’t alone. Unfortunately, the illnesses I have, there is no cure. I strive to spread awareness in hope that there will be a cure in the future. I decided to take control of my life, and try to make a difference in this World. ♡
